Harry Styles is one of the outstanding artist that has came out with several works for us to enjoy in the past few years. From acting in Dunkirk to releasing a new album Fine Line in 2019.
But I would like to bring the attention back to 2017, about his self-titled album Harry Styles.
The album came as a surprise for me as it sounded different with his usual style. It sounded reggae and definitely did amazing it with his iconic high key voice. All songs recorded in the album were unique on its own and I would like to talk about 3 of my favourites.
Sign of the Times is filled with emotions. They are not found only in his voice, but in the arrangement too. Came in one after the other, slowly building up to the climax. And all comes down to the piano for ending.
For the second recommendation Sweet Creature, Harry shifted the mood to a more lighter tone. By the time you are into a minute or two, you’ll realise how well the guitar was played. Not forgetting the “sweet creature” part, elements of pop song, rings in your head even after the song ended.
Kiwi certainly caught my attention as with the rock element and exciting beats. Personally, I think this song best display Harry’s vocal, on handling the high pressure. The downside of the song is its only 2 mins 56 secs, amazing rock song ended too soon.
