Introduction
Now, let’s get you introduced to LINION. LINION is a 23 years old, Taiwanese singer and songwriter. His songs are heavy with chill beats and jazzy bass tones, which we will talk about more later. While showing a huge interest in music and started learning them at the age of 10, LINION also able to ride on the Asian wave that has been driving asian music recognised world wide.
In 2018, LINION release an album named <Me in Dat Blue> and his only album thus far. I personally like his style and beats, definitely looking forward for his next album.
A note on how I came across this artist is when he was performing alongside with 9m88 during 88rising’s Asia Rising Forever.
First and foremost, LINION’s music are incredibly smooth and jazzy. His beats are groovy, adding in some simple and clear bass. And this made his music simple, straight-forward and perfect for a alternative for lo-fi music. Here are my favourite 3 songs from LINION.
If Una is a Cat demonstrates LINION is pretty comfortable with just simple melody resulting a smooth and jazzy song. While the song also depicts a simple story of a car who just loves staying in.
Next, Room 335 combines many elements in a song, but none overlapping and all balanced out. The song gave a retro feeling while having a rythmic beat in the background. Moreover, LINION added in a verse from 《江雪》, a poem from the Tang Dynasty to further explain the looniness felt in the song.

Lastly, Can’t Find. Most listened to song in LINION’s list of song (1 million times listened). The reason it might catches many listeners might be its lyrics. It surrounds on the story of how tough life could be. While its slow beats brings out the laziness. And many listeners could resonate with this, similar to the attraction brought by likes of JOJI and Boy Pablo.
