Here’s a music video of OK Go’s Here It Goes Again. This video has harnessed over 50 millions views and released over 10 years ago. Over the years, OK Go has only released weirder and weirder music videos, but on the good spectrum of weird. The weird that you want to be part of it, the weird that you wished you had the idea first, the weird that you wished that you had the chance to try.
OK Go is an alternative rock band formed by Damian Kulash (vocals), Tim Nordwind (bass), Dan Konopka (drums) and Andy Ross (guitar). Other than releasing quirky one-take videos, OK Go has also received many other achievements. This includes receiving a Grammy Award for Best Music Video in 2007 and collaborations with big brands creating viral videos.

OK Go’s music has always incorporate some element of surprise. It comprise of sounds that we do not often hear in songs. The continuous beats and psychedelic sounds creates a space that feels like falling down a spiral. Thus, the music works best with some visual guides.

They are crazy! I have seen many shares on social medias commenting their music videos ideas are crazy. For example, doing it in zero gravity, playing with perception/ angle, shooting with 567 printers. To top it up, all the videos challenge to make it seems like one take, with no mistakes allowed.

The Writing On the Wall requires the camera in a certain position in order to see the picture. In a TED talk session, Damian said it was his habit since high school to find satisfaction in finding objects to align in a certain way. Next, Upside Down & Inside Out is a music video shot in a zero gravity environment (Parabolic Flight). Since the zero gravity condition only happens for about 25-28 seconds, it was break into 8 different section to shoot. Fun fact: Andy hated the experience. He was devastated when he knew they have to reshoot the last scene when some paint got to the camera.
Finally, The One Moment which was shot on a slow-mo camera while everything happened less than 5 seconds. It took so much planning and calculation just to get them on the right timing. This music video definitely made other slow-mo videos a joke.
Choreographer
Undoubtedly, OK Go has some pretty sick moves in their music videos. This is because Trish Sie is OK Go’s choreographer directing the moves.
Trish also appeared in a OK Go’s Skyscraper.
