While I was cracking my head on what I should shoot next, I stumble upon Jo Nakashima‘s video tutorial on folding origami. I thought to myself, why not try out origami photography, like what I did with miniature photography previously. So, I dug out some old colour papers and started folding.
Here are the results.
Dumb Dinosaur running around during sunset
The idea is to create a orangish sunset in the background, so orange coloured paper were used as background. To make the background more realistic, I added some clouds by putting cotton on a acrylic plane. I got this idea from @heartpatrick on Instagram. Additionally, I used my Ikea table lamp to create the sunset by putting the light behind the coloured paper.
Foxy Fox in the Wild
The environment I wanted for this scene is one that closest to nature. Surrounded by greeneries and the subject pop out of the bushes. The materials I used are dry grass and some coconut husk.
Lonely Whale in Deep Blue Sea
To create the dark sea background, I took my Uniqlo shirt and hang in the background. The origami whale was supported by a metal wire, which was later edited out. I tried putting a layer of water under the light source to create the refraction of light you will see underwater. But in this case, it does not seem to obvious.
