A lot of times I struggle with finding a subject or topic to work on. What should I shoot, where should I practice and what could grab the attention of my audience. The Movement Control Order (MCO) gave me an opportunity to look back on some of my old photos. And some photos I took some time ago in KL Bird Park caught my attention.
Animals are somehow a difficult subject to capture in the wild. They are constantly moving and take time to spot one. If you are lucky, you may be able to capture some clear and stable shot.

In my opinion, KL Bird Park would be a good practice ground for photographers who would like to snap some good colourful shots. Here are a few reasons why.

1. Birds are comfortable with humans
KL Bird Park receives about 200,000 visitors annually. The birds in KL Bird Park are generally comfortable in the presence of human and do not fly away easily. Thus, they are easier to shoot and you can take your time to get your perfect shot. Still, follows the dos and don’ts of the park.

2. Planning your shoot according to areas
Birds are separated into areas according to their species. You can plan your shoot accordingly based on your pace. Thus, you can practice your camera settings according to the area.

3. Rare subject to be found in the wild
KL Bird Park has some of the rare species that you can find in the wild. Therefore, you can add photos of some rare bird species to your photo collection or portfolio.

4. In their own natural habitat
KL Bird Park tried their best to recreate the natural habitat for each of the species. For this reason, you shall not worry that the background of the photos look unnatural.

5. Have fun
Most importantly, have fun with your family or your photo buddy!
