This little coffee shop in Ara Damansara is hitting a one-year milestone! To celebrate this achievement, underscore coffee is serving some awesome Geisha varietal from Toothless Coffee Roaster as their seasonal. After the introduction by the barista, I decided to give this well sought after coffee a try.
One-year Recap
underscore coffee started off as a neighbourhood cafe serving coffee to the residents of Ara Damansara. Moreover, only half of the shop was utilised and the other half was occasionally opened for workshops. This humble cafe only served coffee and light bites in the beginning due to the man-power and wishing to give their best in serving good coffee.
Words began to spread about this cafe. About their good coffee and humble services. Next, people started visiting underscore coffee because of their high quality coffee and consistency.
With crowds coming in, demands for choices of food and more seats came along too. They started renovating the back area to accommodate more coffee lovers. And adding a kitchen to prepare hot food.
In February 2020, Movement Control Order (MCO) was announced due to the worldwide pandemic. Many small businesses were affected, including underscore coffee. You can read more about how underscore coffee raft through MCO here.
Today, underscore coffee is still serving some of the best coffee in the area. Additionally, they are always experimenting with food and drinks, bringing more surprises to their customers. Go celebrate their one-year anniversary by trying their Geisha coffee before it runs out. My recommendation would be their Classic White cold brew. Visit them if you are in the area.
Food and Drinks Recommendations
underscore coffee now has a pretty complete menu. My personal recommendation for coffee would be their everyday blend (white) or seasonal (white). Taste their dedication put into a good cup of coffee. The GF Bowl would be my recommendation for food. The aroma of the truffle oiled egg accompanied with some cinnamon roasted chicken in a bowl is such a blessing. Before leaving, grab a classic white brew, best cold brew so far.
Comfortable Interior Design
Other than serving good coffee, underscore coffee’s also provides a comfortable ambience. They choose a turquoise-themed interior and decorated with simple furniture. A good place for both gathering and working.
